When I purchased Ruger I was looking for an intelligent, sable German Shepherd with a good temperament that would protect my family. I have always had a passion for German Shepherds and Raina looks like what most people used to think of when they thought about a German Shepherd. She is a beautiful German Shepherd with a combination of American and German bloodlines. I believe the personality and looks of these two dogs compliments each other perfectly. My goal is to raise beautiful, intelligent dogs that have the personality to make excellent family dogs. It is also my goal for the puppies to have the temperament and ability to make personal protection dogs as well as sport dogs. All of our puppies will be raised in our home and will be loved and socialized. The puppies are fed a high quality large breed puppy ration. The puppies spend a lot of time with both the sire and the dam. They visit the veterinarian at 3 weeks of age to get their first physical. They begin the deworming at this time. They receive the 2nd round of deworming at 5 weeks for 3 days and again at 7 weeks for 3 days. At 8 weeks they make their 2nd visit to the vet to receive another physical, parasite check, and begin vaccinations. All of the puppies are guaranteed be healthy when they leave my home.

The first litter of Raina / Ruger puppies were born May 4. The first puppy was actually born in the floorboard of my Jeep on the way home from the veterinarian. The puppy came 5 days early. The remaining puppies were born in my bedroom. For the first few weeks Raina wanted the puppies to be wherever I was and would bring them to me. They laid on the couch with me and slept in the bed with me. As the puppies grew she started letting them sleep in the crate. When they started walking they moved from the crate to the bathroom. As they continued growing and learned how to get over the gate at the bathroom they started spending some of their time outside in the pen and some of it inside in the crate. They get plenty of free time to run and play in the yard in the morning and in the evening. They love to play in the kiddie pool and chew sticks.
